LWRA Repeater is QRT, Needs New Home, Or...?
Nov. 11, 2006 (updated Nov 27th)

Club Members,

The LWRA was notified that our antenna (and tower) must be taken down in order for the property owner to continue to be insured in the future. We have since complied fully.

Decent relocation options are very slim based on previous research and new County tower restrictions. We really need to be about 350'+ASL to be effective. 'Backyard Repeaters' have no serviceable coverage.

The antenna and tower were removed Saturday the 18th.

* * Major discussion at next Dec. 14th Meeting.

A number of members showed up at the site to offer support. The early birds- Jim N1WHF, Gene KC4VXO, Melba, Jack K4BYF, and Sam W4KUM

Both VHF and UHF antennas have been removed. Howard WB4NYT our tower climber lowers the first section of tower down to the ground crew.
