LWRA Member and Friend Mary Anne Campbell KR4ZV - SK -
July 6, 2006
Our long time friend and LWRA member for 14 years Mary Anne Campbell passed away 6:30AM July 3rd in her home at the age of 76.

A memorial service was held for Mary Anne in Lake Wales on the 6th where her family, friends and LWRA members attended. John KC4KLM, President of the LWRA addressed the gathering sharing his thoughts on Mary Anne as a member. John also spoke on behalf of those members who were not able to attended.

We love Mary Anne for her friendship, character, batches of humor e-mails, and her remarkably strong dedication to our Ham club.

Over the years as an LWRA member, she was not one to stay in the background and 'let some one else do it'. Though health declining, she still participated in club functions- as recent as our picnic in June where Mary Anne brought the Sea Shell Salad for us to consume.

Mary Anne as Treasurer for the LWRA

Mary Anne once held the position of Treasurer and Newsletter Editor for the LWRA.

Mary Anne regularly attending club meetings where she kept us up to date on members taken ill, shared her thoughts and gave wisdom on a number of topics...

...And rightly so. She aided in a number of ways to keep the LWRA going both financially and physically.

Take a look through the LWRA scrap book (90's page 4) and you will see ways that Mary Anne left her mark. She was also featured in the March Issue of QRM which was very insightful into her past, and interests. Mary Anne along with her Husband Bill KR4ZU will also be recognized in the 2006 Field Day/Picnic soon to be released. Scroll further down to see the bit about Bill and Mary Anne at Field Day 2006.

Mary Anne has woven so much into the LWRA time line with such a style that she can never be forgotten.

Bill and Mary Anne have probably the best participation record in everything that the LWRA does. Club meetings, public safety functions (communications support), Repeater site work, and events just like this. They're your pair to count on being there for the LWRA!
