Thanks for Efforts Even if We Only USE IT! 3.1% of the Time
April 28, 2008
What better way to say -Thank you - to all who have made donations in many various ways towards resuming repeater operations than to actually get on the repeater and USE IT! So how are we doing on the 'big thanks' so far?
Using the hour meter built by John KC4KLM we can see how much the repeater does get used. The numbers on the right start from April 2nd, when the repeater returned to the air up to April 28th, so far. That would be 27 days in operation. So far, 19.4 hours logged. Daily usage in hours

With all the excitement of having just returned to the air this month and the technical issues experienced since then, this has given the repeater usage a boost to 3.0% or less than 43 minutes a day on average. With out the hoop-la, the numbers look to be less than 1% repeater usage. Perhaps usage should be logged in minutes as opposed to hours?

"Looks like there is no need for crowd control on the repeater today."

Most of the activity as shown dies off considerably within a few days of a big event (numbers marked in red), the first being the repeater back in service and the second when the tower climber checked out everything up stairs on April 23rd.

In comparison the well known Bigstick repeater system, as of this writing, had about 19, yes 19 hours of use in just the last two days.
