![]() Left- Burns Ave., Right- Water tower where we will hang our antenna. As of September 29th Active member Jack K4BYF has been in contact with the City and says they are delighted to hear we are still interested in using the water tower. Jack says the City would like to use the LWRA Repeater as a backup in case they have a failure. The city says they do have their own Amateur Radio equipment available to them if needed in emergency. Additional news on the City communications as reported by Jack. They are setting up an Emergency Operations Center (EOC) in the Fire Department building. Also they have a mobile set up as well. Busy Jack has also been in touch with the tower climber. He says he is tired up with antenna repairs on a commercial station, but will get some time to come out possibly next week (October) and survey the tower to find a spot for an antenna. |

| There also
has been discussion about the need for an antenna that
can hold up a lot better under high winds than our current
antenna, which is not really meant to be used in a commercial
environment. The tower climber says he can get us an antenna
at 30 percent off the cost and would run about $600. |
