Results of LWRA Unofficial Repeater Meeting

(Webmaster note: Not sure why this was an unofficial meeting as regular meetings resume in September. Probably not enough for a quorum, and no 'former officers' present.)

Date: Thursday 09/13/07
Subject: Open Discussion of Ideas to Save LWRA and Repeater or Not

Members Attended: K4BYF, AB4AX (or was it AB4XK?),WB9IJW,WB4NYT,W2IQE

Since there were no former officers present, the unofficial meeting was opened by Jack (K4BYF) for general questions and suggestions whether the club should saved if possible, and if not what eventually we would have to do with the equipment. General consensus was to try to save the club. Also discussed was the repeater and associated equipment, as to where it was and condition. No actual decisions were or could have been made, since none of the ex-officers were not present and still hold the authority of assets.

K4BYF reported that after several attempts he was still not successful in contacting the climber, if still available, and whether the site was also still available.

The repeater shed is still safely stored in N2JHW (Mike's) custody.

Urgently needed: President, Vice President, Treasurer, Secretary

In order for the club to survive we must have officers!

Sebring Bike Race:

Volunteers Jack, John, and Pete were the only hams from the LWRA to help in the race. LWRA received a $50.00 Donation.(not verified). The 146.985 Bartow repeater was used for the ride.

At present there are approximately 35 paid members.

The 5 members mentioned above in (Members Attended) were given a roster and a list of names to contact in advance for the next meeting to discuss whether the club and repeater can exist as well as look for new officers.

My Comment's
At the ending of the unofficial meeting, all those that were present, voiced their opinion that it would be worth the effort to save the club, and have the repeater running again. I know several of us members miss the repeater. Without the support from the membership and new officers, I fear that quite possibly might not happen. Rick Nelson WB9IJW
