14 voting members attended the January meeting enough for a quorum. If you were not able to attend we feel you still need to be kept up to date. This was an important meeting about what is happening in your club.

Here's the highlights:
  • Elections. Attempted elections again. Current officers were "railroaded" into holding positions until we can get through our Repeater site issue.

    Old Business
  • Picnic. Resumed discussion on future club picnic. It's was decided to hold picnic on March 10th.

  • Dues. Suggested to club we reduce dues to $10 for 2007 due to current situation. Dues amount to be assessed in Dec. '07 for the year 2008. Paying dues maintains right to vote, and take care of smaller expenses. It was voted on and did not carry. Dues are still $20 for the year 2007.

  • Sebring Hamfest LWRA table update. Discussed further on our needs and decided we need to purchase 3 tables. About half dozen members have stuff to sell. Made inquiries to the Sebring folks on table purchases and where to send money in advance. Have not gotten a reply from them as yet.

  • Repeater site search report. Still looking. Check into "Friedlander's" tower. Got bought out by cell company. They are not interested in us. They they them selves are in the process of being bought out too! They own 23 of the best and highest sites in the County and thousands across the U.S.!

  • Asked the group if they understood our situation, and what we have done over the years in looking for a site or had questions. None.

  • Storage. Need some one to store the shed and equipment for however long it takes. Working on that now. Touched on expenses of and how to move the shed.

  • New Business
  • Dues keep going to the wrong address. The return address on the newsletter is not the right place! Suggested changing the return address on the newsletter to our P.O. box. ( P.O. Box 54  Lake Wales, FL 33859 )

  • Donation to the 'Y'. Made a donation of $50 to the 'Y' form the LWRA.

    Other Stuff
  • Just added more to the numerous documents from the archives consisting of hand written notes, topographic maps, County tower inquiries, etc. which were displayed on a table regarding the search for a new location dating back to 1993 to present, showing we've done our homework. Including the lasted search in detail.
