WB4NYT says that there is only one Amateur FM satellite pass during the
day a little after 11AM and the bird would be very low on the Horizon. As
you can see from the angle VHF/UHF beam it's low! |

|

Folks are still gathering
and bringing goodies to the picnic table. Lunch at noon!
|

(Left to Right) It looks
like Bill KR4ZU can't wait and he so going to eat early Also in the foreground
is Rick W4RLD's wife, Ruth, with Grandchildren down from N.C. On the right
we have Joe Pirkle AD4IH doing some programming on his lap-top.
|
With
a single element from what used to be 3-element tri-band beam now mounted
on the tower, Sam W4KUM wonders who is going to 'heft this all up into the
air?'
(Left to right) That would be Rich WA4ABM, Thomas AG4UC, Rick W4RLD and
Glen KA2EUM. Howard WB4NYT is near by.
|

|
(Looking
South, 11:58AM) With antenna now up in the air, Glen KA2EUP (right) check
the tower angle. Howard WB4NYT is scaling the ladder to secure the tower.
City Commissioner Jean Scott can also be seen in the picture witnessing
how quickly local Hams can get on the air with a portable station had it
been an emergency or disaster.
