If you
come up with something interesting for Field Day, crowds will form, maybe
help, and take a number of pictures!
(refering to long pole) No they are not training for the Olympics.
Chet AB4XK uses the boom from his vehicle to raise a telescopic fiberglass
pole into place.
Jack K4BYF and Max W2IQE are put to work.
The pole has markings for measurement too small to see in the picture. The
pole appears to be intended to either measure the depth or height of something. |

| A close
up of Chet, Max, and Jack working out the details on getting this fiberglass
pole in the air. |

|
And
there it goes, being hoisted into the air.....
In the background the 15 Meter dipole can be seen. |

|
...And
there you have it. A portable mast supported by the boom of Chet's vehicle.
This fiberglass pole will hold up a 40 Meter inverted V wire antenna today.
Antenna enthusiasts everywhere are going to want one of these!

|
This
picture was taken around 3:30PM. You can barely make out the 40 Meter wire
supported by the fiberglass pole.
Thunder can be heard in the distance and clouds are looking much darker.
It will definitely rain. But when? |
