Here we
are again at the Kiwanis Park of Lake Wales for our 2006 Field Day and picnic.
The following pictures will reveal what it was like on this day for the
participants.
The park is located on the N.E. side of Lake Wailes.

(Facing North) The covered
tables on the left we used for the picnic area and one of our Field Day
stations. The covered tables on the right were mainly used for visitor sign
in, public information, static antique displays, and two more Field Day
stations. That's right- LWRA went 3A this year due to the number of FD participants!

Lets
have a close up of the covered tables on the left again....
Hey, that's Old Glory mounted on top of a home brew 15M dipole made by Chet
AB4XK!
First to arrive on site, early birds Chet AB4XK, Joe AD4IH, Pat AI4OP, and
visitor Stephen set up the dipole.

(Looking South) Swinging
the camera's gaze over Lake Wailes, at 10:30AM it looks like the clouds
are building fast. Folks are wondering if we are going to have a repeat
of FD 2004 where we got run off by the threat of storms.
The image from the camera produced clouds that looked totally harmless-
white. To the eye however, it was not so. After some photo manipulations,
we now have clouds that look about right.

While you all toil to make this day great, I will guard the food you put
on the table. Really- I will!
...Aw! She looks so trusting! |
